That's Them recently took the time to answer '10 Questions with Skae'.
Skae caught up with Sarm and Nebs to talk about their recent release and what they have coming up.
1. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview. Tell me a bit about "That's Them". Who does what in the crew and what is your sound like?Thats them are myself Sarm, and Nebs, we're both MC's, Nebs the monster handles all the production and mixing for the group as well. In terms of who do we sound like?, to be honest i dont think you can compare our sound to too many. We got a lot of different comments recently from reviews we're people had tried to pigeon hole us, and quickly realised we are far from what they expected. If you like good music with a bit of everything than Thats Them is for you.
2. That's Them have recently release an LP called "Stay Up" and did a mini tour to launch it. Which city was the best show at and why? Hard to say which city was best, Sydney was definetley the livest, they we're hungry as. Melbourne was dope too cause we got to meet a whole lot of people and fans as it was the first time we had played in Melbourne, and Tasmania was ill cause no one new who we were but partied hard with us. The people in Hobart sure no how to get live.
3. What are the most important parts about putting a launch tour together? The most important part for doing a tour, is so that people out of your state can see you, so you can connect with them. You can only play your home state for so long, it's also good to get out and get rowdy on tour.
4. If That's Them were given a grant of $10,000 for music, what would they spend it on?We would probably invest it in more equipment and paying ourselves back on the debt we have racked up ha ha Would definitely invest in getting some proper promotion done by a professional as well.
5. What can we expect in future from That's Them both live and in recordings?Thats Them are going to be going down a whole new path in 2010 and beyond, a lot of heads might not like the new direction/sound, but for us it's time for a change. We're already deep in the process of working on something new and so far it has been extremely fun and rewarding.
Live wise we always get live, maybe expect to see some pirotechnics & i heard the kids are loving face painting at shows these days aswell haha. F that!! Thats them are a No Gimmicks crew, expect to hear big beats, killer raps delivered with a lot of energy.
6. What's your favorite pair of kicks?I think it's pretty safe to say that both Nebs and i are big fans of the Air Max, I think we reference them about a Thousandddd times throughout the album ha myself i'm BW fan. Nebsy's got a fetish for 90's.
7. . What's the worst part about being a Hip Hop artist?Loosing your hard earned cash putting out music
8. What's the best part about being a Hip Hop artist?Making whatever you want to make, and taking your music in the direction you want too.
9. You're at the pub and about to order a counter meal. What is your meal of choice?Im on a massive weight loose tip at the moment so it would be something non hiphop like a salad, haha any other day a big F*&k Off Steak with chips and a schooner to help wash it down.
10. Lastly, would you like to give some shout outs and/or props to people who have helped That's Them get to where they are today?Lookup crew for sure, big shout out to Kerser, watch for him he's doing some big things at the moment, and also to anyone who's copped a copy of Stay up
